This work symbolizes the Nine Aspirations of Love, which form the foundation of human existence: 1. The love of knowing oneself and honoring the purpose and responsibilities for which one has come into this world. 2. The love of remembering and repaying the kindness of one’s parents who gave life and nurtured one’s growth. 3. The love that cherishes unity and harmony within family and kinship. 4. The love of preserving and carrying forward the wisdom and teachings of one’s ancestors. 5. The love of caring for, nurturing, and protecting the natural world. 6. The love of safeguarding and honoring the sovereignty and independence of one’s homeland. 7. The love of understanding the unity of opposites—light and shadow, black and white—and living in balance with their coexistence. 8. The love of embracing others without judgment, distinction, or expectation of return. 9. The love of blessing all existence and sustaining life through goodwill, compassion, and continuity. In Nine Aspirations and Continuity, these expressions of love come together as a single circle of existence. Flowing from one generation to the next, they symbolize the eternal connection between humanity and the universe, reminding us that love is both our origin and our continuation.
